PLASTIKA KRITIS believes that industry should actively participate in the effort for protecting the environment.
With this in mind, the company has installed a sizeable plastics recycling unit at its plant in Iraklion-Crete, with a capacity of 6.500 MT/year. The plant is capable of handling industrial scrap from plastic factories, municipal plastic waste and, most importantly, used greenhouse films which are collected from the fields through a network the company has organized in the main agricultural areas of Greece.
Part of the recycled material is used in certain of the company's products (e.g. construction film, silage film) while the rest is sold to plastic factories in Greece for a variety of uses (plastic bags, irrigation pipes etc.).
